Through the use of homeopathic remedies we have the ability to balance on all three energetic levels...
mental, emotional and physical.
Homeopathy provides us with the ability to explore a new dimension of well being
while eliminating even the smallest of symptoms.

Introduction

Homeopathy acknowledges the symptoms of disease as the body’s attempt to rid itself of some infection or imbalance. Homeopathy recognizes the patient wholly, considering both the individual’s physique and psychology.

Homeopathy first came to New Zealand in 1849. The concepts were developed by Dr Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), a German physician and scholar. He discovered that shaken, diluted doses of plant, animal or mineral substances given to a healthy person will cause them to develop particular symptoms.

He found that when these dilutions were given to unwell people with similar symptoms, it often cured them. He thereby reasoned that the proper remedy is whatever substance produces, in healthy people, symptoms similar to those from which the patient suffers.

This is known as the Law of Similars (Similia Similibus Curentur). The principle behind using the minimum dose is that succussion of a substance enhances its curative properties while its dilution avoids any possible side-effects by rendering the substance non-toxic. This differs from conventional practice where decreased doses tend to render the medicine less and less effective. But below a threshold, the remedy gains new potential. Homeopathy prescribes within this region of potency.

The advantages of homeopathy are not the exclusive property of man; animals happily share the blessing of this great system of medicine. Read more about the use of homeopathy with animals here.

Principles of Homeopathy

  • Disease is manifested by symptoms.
  • Knowledge of drug action should be obtained by observing its effect on the healthy human body.
  • The curative relation between these two sets of phenomena is by virtue of the law of similars (Similia Similibus Curentur).
  • The selected remedy should be administered singly, uncombined with any other, hence the single remedy.
  • The smallest (minimum) dose that will cure, should be given.
